The Real Housewives Franchise Expands to London
The popular “Real Housewives” franchise is set to make its debut in London next year with the launch of “The Real Housewives of London.” This will be the first original series from Hayu, NBCUniversal’s all-reality SVOD service, and will be produced by Monkey, the production company behind the hit British reality series “Made in Chelsea.” The show is scheduled to premiere in late 2025 and will be exclusively available on Hayu.
The announcement was made at the first-ever Hayu FanFest in London, following a panel hosted by “Real Housewives” executive producer Andy Cohen. The event, which was sold out, also featured panel discussions with cast members from various “Real Housewives” series.
Casting for “The Real Housewives of London” is currently underway, with production expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
Hendrik McDermott, managing director of Hayu and EMEA Networks, expressed excitement about the new series, stating, “Tonight’s announcement of ‘The Real Housewives of London’ is Hayu’s first-ever commission of an original series and yet another key milestone in the growth story of our all-reality streaming service. Previous international iterations of the “Real Housewives” franchise include cities like Athens, Vancouver, Melbourne, Budapest, Amsterdam, Johannesburg, Rome, Lagos, Munich, and more. The longest-running international format has been “The Real Housewives of Cheshire,” which has aired for 17 seasons and focuses on the lives of women in the English county.
