Pickle Robot Introduces New CFO Amidst Major Deal with UPS
Pickle Robot, a company specializing in autonomous unloading robots for warehouses and distribution centers, has recently appointed a new chief financial officer in the wake of a significant partnership with UPS, as reported by Bloomberg.
The Charlestown, Massachusetts-based company has welcomed Jeff Evanson as its CFO, with the announcement made on Thursday. Evanson, who had been working with the company in a consulting capacity since September, has now transitioned to a full-time role.
Having previously held the position of vice president of global investor relations and strategy at Tesla from 2011 to 2017, Evanson brings a wealth of experience to his new role at Pickle Robot. During his time at Tesla, he collaborated closely with Elon Musk, playing a key role in securing financing for various Tesla projects and acquisitions.
As Pickle’s first CFO, Evanson joins the company at a pivotal moment as it reportedly strengthens its collaboration with UPS. With approximately $100 million in venture capital funding since its establishment in 2018, Pickle Robot is set to supply UPS with 400 robots following a $120 million investment from the shipping giant. The deployment of these robots is scheduled to commence in late 2026 and early 2027.
While Pickle declined to provide specific details regarding the recent UPS partnership, a company spokesperson did confirm UPS as a longstanding customer. However, the exact timeline of the collaboration initiation remains undisclosed.
