Chicago Police have issued a warning to the public regarding a recent string of robberies linked to Facebook Marketplace transactions in the Morgan Park area. According to reports, six individuals have fallen victim to muggings while attempting to sell gym shoes online. Two of these incidents took place just last night.

Authorities have identified the suspect as an armed robber using the username “Serving Best Deals” on the platform. The individual is known to respond to ads for popular shoe brands such as Air Jordans and Nike, luring sellers into a trap. Upon meeting in person to complete the transaction, victims are met with one or two armed men who forcibly take the shoes without payment.

The Chicago Police Department has disclosed a list of locations and times where these robberies have occurred:

– 1700 block of West Steuben on December 3 at 1:30 p.m.
– 1700 block of West Edmaire on December 4 at 4:15 p.m.
– 11300 block of South Davol on December 10 at 1:37 p.m.
– 11300 block of South Davol on December 10 at 3:49 p.m.
– 1600 block of West Monterey on December 18 at 5:20 p.m.
– 11000 block of South Ashland on December 18 at 8:17 p.m.

The primary suspect is described as a Black male aged 18 to 21, standing between 5’10” to 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds, with a light complexion, dreadlocks, a black puffy coat, gray pants, white Jordan shoes, and tattoos on both hands. A second suspect, believed to be an accomplice, is described as a Black male aged 25 to 30, standing at about 5’11” and wearing all black clothing.
