Samsung has finally released the Galaxy Tab A11+ after skipping a year following the launch of the Galaxy Tab A9 and A9+. This new budget tablet is a continuation of Samsung’s familiar design, with minimal changes from its predecessor. The tablet features a mostly-metal chassis, a familiar circular camera module, and comes in Grey or Silver color options. It retains the dimensions of its predecessor, making it a full-sized tablet that is portable and easy to carry around.
One notable omission from the design is the lack of a fingerprint sensor, which means users will have to rely on facial recognition or passcode entry for security. The tablet features a 3.5mm headphone jack and clicky volume and power buttons for easy use. While the design is clean and functional, it may not offer anything groundbreaking in terms of aesthetics.
Moving on to the screen and speakers, the Galaxy Tab A11+ features an 11-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is adequate for indoor use but struggles with off-angle viewing, resulting in dimmer and distorted visuals. On the audio front, the tablet comes equipped with quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support for an immersive sound experience.
In terms of performance, the Galaxy Tab A11+ is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7300 processor and 6GB of RAM. While the performance is reliable for everyday tasks and multitasking, the tablet may struggle with more demanding tasks and gaming. The storage options include 128GB or 256GB, with the option to expand via a Micro-SD slot.
The tablet features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, suitable for basic photography and video calls. The camera quality may not be exceptional, but it serves its purpose for casual use. The Galaxy Tab A11+ also boasts a 7040mAh battery with 25W charging, providing a decent day’s worth of battery life for regular use.
On the software front, the tablet runs on Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8 interface. Samsung promises seven years of software support for the Galaxy Tab A11+, ensuring users will receive major Android OS upgrades and security patches until at least November 2032. The software experience is user-friendly, with a range of features and customization options.
The Galaxy Tab A11+ is priced starting from £249 for the base model, with a higher storage variant available for £309. While the tablet offers some improvements over its predecessor, it faces stiff competition from other budget tablets in the market. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+ is a solid budget tablet with reliable performance, but it may not offer enough to stand out in a crowded market.
