Ashley Hollis Shares Reconcilation Text She Says She Sent Mickey Lee Before Death

Mickey Lee‘s untimely demise has elicited responses from her fellow “Big Brother” season 27 contestants, with season winner Ashley Hollis revealing an attempt to reconcile with Lee before her passing.

Following the conclusion of their season on “Big Brother,” Lee expressed feeling like the only “traditional black woman” on the show.

Lee later clarified her statement, mentioning that she meant she was the most “stereotypical” Black woman in the house rather than using the term “traditional.” In response, Hollis shared videos of her Black parents to counter the stereotype.

On Friday, after news of Lee’s passing surfaced, Ashley posted a text exchange on Instagram that she had sent Mickey weeks earlier in an effort to mend fences.

In the text, Ashley expressed her desire to reconcile and not be at odds with the only other Black woman on the show, emphasizing that she cared for Mickey during their time together. However, it remains unknown if Mickey responded to the message.

Despite facing criticism for sharing the text exchange, with some accusing her of seeking validation after Mickey’s passing, Ashley deleted the post but explained that she only did so in response to backlash for posting a tribute to Mickey earlier in the day.

Tragically, Mickey passed away on Thursday following a series of cardiac arrests earlier in the week. She was 35 years old.
