Recently, six influencers made headlines by announcing their departure from the popular esports group FaZe Clan. This decision came after unsuccessful contract negotiations with the new management team. The influencers, known as Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, Rage, and Silky, collectively made up the entire roster listed on the FaZe Clan website.

According to a report by Bloomberg, the influencers took to social media to share their departure from FaZe Clan. Adapt, who had been with the organization for 14 years, expressed his emotions on X, stating, “Over half of my life, I’d be lying if I said this didn’t hurt, but it had to be done.” Another member who had previously left in August described the situation as feeling like they had “no control, and it’s like we’re puppets.”

The influencers had been engaged in contract negotiations with FaZe Clan investor HardScope and CEO Matt Kalish for the past six months. Despite their efforts, Kalish intends to move forward with FaZe Clan without the departed influencers. He shared his perspective with Bloomberg, suggesting that the influencers may be influenced by external factors and are facing confusion. Kalish also raised concerns about the group’s current financial structure, labeling it as unsustainable.

FaZe Clan, which went public in 2022, was later acquired by GameSquare for $17 million in the following year. The company faced internal challenges, leading to the dismissal of its CEO. These recent developments have raised questions about the future direction of FaZe Clan and its ability to maintain its place in the competitive esports industry.
