Tragedy struck on Friday night near 105th Avenue and Tower Road when a man was fatally struck by a vehicle, as reported by the Commerce City Police Department.

A Facebook post made late on Friday revealed that the driver, a female, remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

Joanna Small, a public information officer with the department, stated, “We don’t know why he was in the roadway.”

The identity of the deceased man will be disclosed by the Adams County Coroner once he is positively identified.

On the same Facebook post, Kristie Huhn commented claiming that her son was the victim of the accident. “We were visiting my daughter from out of state for Christmas. He has never been here before. He just wanted to go for a walk,” wrote Huhn. Attempts to reach Huhn for further details were unsuccessful.

This is an ongoing investigation and additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
