Authorities express gratitude towards the public for their assistance in apprehending four young individuals involved in a burglary in central Dunedin today.
According to a police statement, a resident on Stuart St alerted authorities around 12:50pm after hearing the sound of glass breaking at a nearby unoccupied property.
Law enforcement quickly responded to the scene, where they witnessed four suspects fleeing towards Cargill Street. The youths were swiftly apprehended and escorted back home after receiving guidance from the police.
Subsequently, the four individuals have been referred to Youth Aid for further intervention.
Authorities issued a friendly reminder to parents to keep track of their children’s whereabouts during the holiday season whenever possible.
