When Bo Nix made a bold statement after leading the Broncos to victory over the Packers, little did he know it would spark a charitable movement. Nix’s declaration of being the “overdogs” instead of underdogs caught the attention of fans and media alike.

After his comment went viral on social media, Nix quickly decided to turn it into a fundraising opportunity. With the help of his marketing team, he launched a line of “Overdogs” merchandise on his website, with all proceeds going to the Denver Rescue Mission.

The response was overwhelming, with the merchandise raising over $25,000 in just two weeks. The Rescue Mission was thrilled with the unexpected support, as Nix and his team had not informed them of the initiative beforehand.

Nix’s philanthropic efforts are not new, as he had previously created merchandise to support ALS United Rocky Mountain. His focus on homelessness and family homelessness stems from his connection to Denver, where he and his wife feel at home.

The proceeds from the “Overdogs” merchandise will go towards providing basic necessities, counseling, job coaching, and potentially a pilot program for families at risk of eviction. The funds will be distributed after the Broncos’ season is over, with hopes that the “Overdog” concept will continue to make an impact.
