Man Stabbed in Violent Clash Near High Line on New Year’s Day
On New Year’s Day, a 39-year-old man was stabbed during a violent clash just steps from the High Line, according to police reports. The incident took place around 6:50 a.m. in front of an apartment building on West 28th Street near Tenth Avenue. The victim sustained stab wounds to his arm and hip and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
The attacker fled the scene after the stabbing, and no description of the suspect was immediately available. Police are investigating whether the victim and the suspect knew each other and what led to the altercation.
Separate Stabbing Incident in Queens
Later in the morning on New Year’s Day, a 40-year-old man was stabbed during a brawl in Queens, leaving him seriously injured. The stabbing occurred around 10:35 a.m. at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Menahan Street in Ridgewood. The victim suffered stab wounds to his chest and stomach and was rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

The assailant in the Queens stabbing fled the scene, and no arrests have been made yet.
