Clicks Technology, a renowned company in the tech industry known for producing physical keyboards for smartphones, is set to unveil two new devices just ahead of the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. One of the devices is a new slide-out keyboard priced at $79, designed for smart devices. The other exciting launch is the Communicator, Clicks Technology’s first smartphone equipped with a physical keyboard, positioned as a secondary device for users.

The Communicator bears a striking resemblance to the classic BlackBerry, a design choice that may appeal to users who prefer physical keyboards for tasks such as messaging, emailing, and document work. The device is tailored for individuals who use two phones – one for work and one for personal use. With a price tag of $499, the Communicator is aimed at users who prioritize productivity and efficient communication.

What sets the Communicator apart is its Signal Light feature, a customizable button on the device’s side that illuminates in different colors and patterns to indicate incoming messages from specific contacts or apps. This unique feature allows users to distinguish between different notifications at a glance.

In terms of functionality, the Communicator offers a touch-sensitive tactile keyboard for faster typing and navigation. Additionally, it includes traditional features like a 3.5mm headphone jack, physical SIM card tray, expandable storage up to 2TB, and a dedicated switch for airplane mode. Users can also personalize the device by swapping out the back cover, available in Smoke, Clover, and Onyx colors.

For early bird customers who place a $199 deposit before February 27, the Communicator is available at a discounted price of $399, inclusive of two extra back covers. The device is expected to ship later this year.

The Communicator’s tech specs include Android 16 with 5 years of security updates, 5G, 4G LTE, and 3G/2G support, a 4,000 mAh battery, 256GB onboard storage, a 50MP main camera, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

CEO Adrian Li expressed confidence in the Communicator, emphasizing the demand for purpose-built communication devices. He highlighted the positive response to Clicks Technology’s previous products, indicating a strong market for devices that enhance communication efficiency.

In addition to the Communicator, Clicks Technology is introducing the Power Keyboard, a slide-out keyboard compatible with smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs. Priced at $79 for early-bird customers, the Power Keyboard offers tactile buttons and customizable settings via the Clicks mobile app for iOS and Android.

Pre-orders for the Power Keyboard begin on Jan. 2, with shipping scheduled for the spring. The device promises to streamline typing tasks and enhance user experience across various smart devices.
