A Maine Democratic Senate candidate with a controversial past has urged his supporters to resist President Trump’s actions in Venezuela and work towards reclaiming the US. Graham Platner, a far-left candidate seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge Sen. Susan Collins, made his passionate plea at a gathering in Portland.

Platner criticized Trump’s administration for its recent operation in Venezuela, where they captured dictator Nicolas Maduro. He called for building power as a way to retake the country and accused Trump of trying to divert attention from the Jeffrey Epstein controversy.

Despite facing backlash for his Nazi-linked tattoo and unconventional views, Platner remains committed to his political ambitions. He believes that Congress’s failure to pass a War Powers Act resolution last year contributed to the current situation in Venezuela.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended the military operation, stating that it was justified due to the international community’s refusal to recognize Maduro as Venezuela’s legitimate leader. The Biden administration placed a bounty on Maduro’s head, leading to his capture by US special forces.

As Maduro’s vice president takes over in an acting capacity, the Trump administration emphasizes the need for a transition and democratic election to determine Venezuela’s future leadership.
