Carville Criticizes Trump Administration’s Handling of Venezuela Crisis

Political strategist James Carville has raised concerns about the Trump administration’s approach to the crisis in Venezuela, particularly in light of the recent strike that led to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro. Carville questioned the administration’s planning and foresight, pointing out the potential geopolitical consequences of the strike and the aftermath of Maduro’s capture.

“What the f— has he ever done that’s — not totally thought out — that’s even marginally thought out?!” Carville exclaimed. He criticized the administration for claiming to have the moral high ground to criticize Russian President Vladimir Putin for the illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, while their own actions may weaken their case.

Carville also took aim at Congress and the Supreme Court, accusing both institutions of failing to effectively check presidential power. He criticized Congress for being passive and indecisive, stating, “The Congress, they just sit there with one thumb up their a–, and one in their mouth, and they switch every 30 seconds.” He also expressed a lack of respect for the Supreme Court, emphasizing the need to follow their rulings but not necessarily to respect them.

Carville’s remarks highlight the need for careful consideration and strategic planning in dealing with international crises, as well as the importance of effective checks and balances on presidential power.
