AMD Unveils Latest AI Processors at CES 2026

Lisa Su, Chair and CEO of AMD, set the stage for her keynote at CES 2026 with a powerful message about the potential of AI in computing, emphasizing the importance of making AI accessible to everyone.

In line with this vision, AMD introduced a new lineup of AI processors, signaling its belief in AI-driven personal computers as the future of computing.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processor, the latest iteration of AMD’s AI-powered PC chips. According to the company, these new processors offer 1.3x faster multitasking capabilities and are 1.7x faster in content creation compared to their competitors.

Featuring 12 CPU Cores and 24 threads, the Ryzen AI 400 Series represents a significant upgrade from the previous Ryzen AI 300 Series processor, which was unveiled in 2024. AMD first introduced the Ryzen processor series in 2017.

Rahul Tikoo, senior vice president and general manager of AMD’s client business, highlighted the company’s growth in the AI PC space, with over 250 AI PC platforms now available, representing a 2x increase from the previous year.

Tikoo emphasized the transformative impact of AI on everyday computing, stating, “In the years ahead, AI is going to be a multi-layered fabric that gets woven into every level of computing at the personal layer. Our AI PCs and devices will transform how we work, play, create, and connect with each other.”

Tikoo reiterated the pervasive influence of AI in computing, stating, “No matter who you are and how you use technology on a daily basis, AI is reshaping everyday computing. AI brings automation, deep reasoning, and personal customization to every individual.”

The PCs equipped with either the Ryzen AI 400 Series processor or the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor are set to hit the market in the first quarter of 2026.

Furthermore, AMD announced advancements in its Redstone ray tracing technology, enhancing video game graphics by simulating the physical behavior of light without compromising performance.
