The Capture of Venezuelan Dictator Nicolás Maduro: A Detailed Account
US Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed in an exclusive interview on “Hannity” that the recent capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro was more than just about drugs. She emphasized that Maduro and other defendants may face charges in various jurisdictions.
Bondi stated, “Nothing is off the table. These individuals must be held accountable for their actions which have resulted in the loss of numerous lives. They are not mere street-level drug dealers; they are involved in narco-trafficking.”
Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, pleaded not guilty to narco-terrorism and related charges in federal court. The Justice Department alleges that Maduro provided diplomatic passports to drug traffickers and assisted in money laundering activities.
During a court appearance, Maduro declared himself a “prisoner of war” and maintained his innocence, claiming to be a decent man and the rightful president of Venezuela.
While some Democrats criticized the military operation as a breach of state sovereignty, Bondi defended “Operation Absolute Resolve,” stating that it was well within President Donald Trump’s constitutional authority.
Bondi praised the operation, codenamed “Operation Absolute Resolve,” as a successful law enforcement maneuver that saved numerous lives and prevented dangerous individuals associated with the TDA gang from entering the US.
The attorney general highlighted the tragic deaths caused by Venezuelan gang members and pledged to put an end to such violence.
Despite Trump’s assertion that the US will temporarily oversee Venezuela, Maduro’s allies in the government have disputed this claim. Maduro and his wife are scheduled to appear in court again on March 17.
