Henry Winkler, best known for his iconic role as the Fonz on “Happy Days,” is set to star in a new legal comedy in development at NBC called “Last Chance Lawyer.” In the series, Winkler will portray Howard Greenberg, a tough and unconventional criminal defense attorney who fights passionately for his underdog clients, believing that the system is often at fault. Written by Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller, the show is produced by Winkler, Jed Mercurio, and Jimmy Mulville through Hat Trick Media, with Universal Television serving as the studio behind the project.

Winkler’s acting credits include his Emmy-winning role in HBO’s “Barry,” as well as memorable appearances in “Arrested Development,” “The Waterboy,” and “Click.” He has also starred in various films and TV shows, showcasing his versatility as an actor. In addition to his acting career, Winkler is a successful children’s book author, having co-written the popular Hank Zipzer series with Lin Oliver.

Gagerman and Waller, the writing duo behind “Last Chance Lawyer,” have a successful track record in the industry, with their Blacklist feature “Search Party” being produced by Universal and featuring stars like Adam Pally and Alison Brie.

The news of Winkler’s involvement in “Last Chance Lawyer” was first reported by Deadline, generating excitement among fans of the actor and legal comedy enthusiasts alike. With Winkler’s talent and the creative vision of the show’s writers, “Last Chance Lawyer” promises to be a compelling and entertaining addition to NBC’s lineup.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as it continues to develop and make its way to screens in the near future.
