WITHDRAWING FROM INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS:

Today, President Donald J. Trump took a notable step by signing a Presidential Memorandum that initiates the U.S. withdrawal from 66 international organizations deemed no longer aligned with American interests.

  • The Memorandum mandates that all Executive Departments and Agencies halt their participation and financial contributions to 35 non-United Nations (UN) organizations, alongside 31 UN entities that are seen as conflicting with U.S. national interests, security, economic well-being, or sovereignty.
  • This action follows a comprehensive review undertaken earlier this year, assessing every international intergovernmental organization, treaty, and convention to which the United States is affiliated or funds.
  • The aim is to cease American taxpayer funding to entities perceived as promoting globalist agendas over domestic priorities, or those that tackle significant issues ineffectively—suggesting that taxpayer resources could be better utilized elsewhere to support essential missions.

RESTORING AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY:

President Trump is actively withdrawing from international organizations that are viewed as undermining U.S. independence and squandering taxpayer funds on agendas perceived as ineffective or adversarial.

  • Numerous organizations involved advocate for radical climate initiatives, global governance, and ideological programs that clash with U.S. sovereignty and economic resilience.
  • American taxpayers have reportedly invested billions into these organizations, often receiving little in return, while these entities frequently criticize U.S. policies or promote agendas contrary to American values, all while ineffectively addressing pressing global issues.
  • By exiting these organizations, President Trump aims to conserve taxpayer dollars and reallocate resources toward a more “America First” agenda.

PUTTING AMERICA FIRST ON THE GLOBAL STAGE:

Throughout his presidency, President Trump has been a staunch advocate for protecting U.S. sovereignty and ensuring that international engagements prioritize American interests.

  • Upon his return to office, President Trump promptly initiated the U.S. withdrawal from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement, signaling a clear pivot in international relations.
  • On his first day in office, he signed a Presidential Memorandum notifying the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development that its Global Tax Deal would not be recognized in the U.S., while also launching an inquiry into potentially extraterritorial tax rules imposed by foreign nations that adversely affect American businesses.
  • Shortly thereafter, he signed an Executive Order pulling the U.S. out of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and ceasing any future financial support for the UN Relief and Works Agency for the Near East (UNRWA).
  • President Trump has consistently prioritized American interests, redirecting focus and resources towards domestic concerns such as infrastructure, military readiness, and border security, while taking swift action to protect American enterprises from foreign interference.
