HYBE America is gearing up for some major excitement with the addition of PR veteran Johanna Fuentes as the executive VP and head of communications and public relations. In her new role, Fuentes will be responsible for managing all internal and external communications for HYBE across North and South America.
Fuentes brings with her a wealth of experience, having worked with clients such as Regal Cineworld, Activision, Blumhouse, and Shakira’s “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” world tour. She has previously held key positions at WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group, Warner Bros., Showtime Networks, and Bravo.
The announcement of Fuentes’ hiring coincides with another major appointment at HYBE America, with Ethiopia Habtemariam joining as the new president of music. Fuentes will oversee communications and PR for HYBE America’s music, film, and TV portfolios, including partnerships with Big Machine Label Group, Quality Control Music, and Universal Music.
Isaac Lee, Chairman and CEO of HYBE America, expressed his excitement about Fuentes joining the team, praising her strategic vision and industry relationships. Fuentes, who is based in Los Angeles, will collaborate with HYBE America’s senior leadership team and the global PR team in Korea.
Fuentes herself is thrilled to be a part of HYBE America at a pivotal moment for the company and the global music industry. She looks forward to contributing her expertise in navigating periods of rapid change to support HYBE’s expansion across the Americas.
While music remains HYBE’s primary focus, the company also has a strong presence in TV and film. An upcoming K-Pop film directed by Benson Lee is currently in production with Paramount. HYBE’s impressive roster of artists includes big names like BTS, Tim McGraw, Sheryl Crow, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, and ENHYPEN.
With Fuentes on board, HYBE America is poised to make waves in the entertainment industry, solidifying its position as a powerhouse in the Americas. Stay tuned for more exciting developments from this innovative company.
