Armed police in Dunedin successfully apprehended fugitive Caleb Lynn, who had been the subject of a city-wide manhunt. Lynn, wanted for aggravated robbery and other offenses, was located at a house on Kaikorai Valley Rd.

Witnesses reported that nine police cars and armed officers surrounded the property around 5.30pm. After using a loudspeaker to communicate with the individuals inside, a woman and two men, one of whom was believed to be Lynn, were taken into custody.

In a statement, the police confirmed the arrest of the two men, aged 27 and 33, and a 28-year-old woman on existing warrants. They are scheduled to appear before the Dunedin District Court on Monday, January 12, facing serious charges, including aggravated robbery.

The manhunt for Lynn involved armed officers and road spikes after a series of vehicle thefts, including a courier van. Witnesses reported sightings of Lynn, who has a distinctive “$” tattoo on his face, during the pursuit.

Additionally, a witness claimed to have encountered a man resembling Lynn at the Dunedin Railway Station. The stolen courier van, belonging to New Zealand Post, was recovered, prompting an investigation by the company and the police.

The swift action of the armed police and collaboration between law enforcement and the public led to the successful arrest of Caleb Lynn, bringing an end to the city-wide manhunt.
