Speculation has swirled for months regarding Kristi Noem’s position as Secretary of Homeland Security, with whispers of her potential replacement echoing through political circles. The crux of Trump’s dissatisfaction with Noem doesn’t stem from her running a department that has faced allegations of lawlessness, resulting in tragic outcomes for American citizens.

Instead, the former president is frustrated with Noem for not meeting the administration’s ambitious deportation targets—demands that seem to seek an escalation of deportation tactics.

The recent homicide of Renee Good in Minneapolis, MN, is unlikely to accelerate deportation processes. National protests have erupted following Good’s death.

In a recent appearance on CNN, Kristi Noem attempted to defend the circumstances surrounding Good’s killing.

Let’s just say, it didn’t go as planned.

During her interview on CNN’s State of the Union, Jake Tapper posed a straightforward question: “What was she doing when she was moving her car?”

After some delay, Noem responded:

Why are we debating a president dedicated to public safety? Why are we at odds with law enforcement efforts that have been standard practice for years, aimed at apprehending murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, and fraudsters? We need local law enforcement officials to collaborate with us to effectively carry out these operations.

The majority of Americans have expressed a desire for a safer nation, one free from dangerous criminals. I urge local leaders to partner with us so we can conduct operations without facing the backlash and violent rhetoric we currently see.

Noem’s assertions seem to gloss over the reality; many voters didn’t support Trump out of a desire for crime reduction or mass deportations.

Rather, the dismal state of Trump’s approval ratings can be traced back to voters prioritizing economic issues like lowering costs and tackling inflation.

Yet, here we are, with ICE agents in Minnesota tragically involved in the shooting of a mother of three.

When pressed on why an ICE agent shot a woman, Noem deflected, shifting the narrative to why anyone would dare question Trump.

The interview only got more uncomfortable from there.
