6-Year-Old Boy and Father Injured in Knife Attack in Lincoln Park

A 6-year-old boy and his 27-year-old father were injured in a knife attack after a man became aggressive and attacked them Sunday night in Lincoln Park, according to Chicago police.

The incident occurred at around 10:24 p.m. in the 2700 block of North Sheffield Avenue. An unknown man approached the victims and engaged in a physical altercation, brandishing a sharp object that resulted in injuries to both the father and son.

The father sustained a puncture wound to his left arm, while the boy suffered a minor laceration to his back. Both victims were transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital and were reported to be in good condition.

Police described the assailant as a Black man in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 6’1″ to 6’2″ tall with an afro hairstyle. He was last seen wearing a navy jacket, black pants, and carrying a bookbag as he fled south on foot.
