Squarespace to Advertise During Super Bowl LX
Some people believe that a Super Bowl isn’t complete without ads for candy, movies, and beer. However, those in the know understand that a web-hosting service commercial is now a staple of the Big Game. Squarespace, a website building service, will be showcasing their 12th Super Bowl commercial during the upcoming game, with a 30-second spot set to air between the first and second quarters, just like in the 2025 game.
Details about the commercial are being kept under wraps, but David Lee, Squarespace’s chief creative officer, has hinted that it will be “very filmic, very cinematic” and will touch upon a new theme that hasn’t been explored in their previous ads. A teaser image released by Squarespace shows a desolate home on a small rock island overlooking a vast ocean.
The Super Bowl LX is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. NBC, the broadcaster, is asking for at least $7 million for a 30-second ad slot.
Despite the high price tag, Squarespace believes it is a worthwhile investment. Lee emphasizes the importance of live events in the ever-changing media landscape, stating that the Super Bowl offers a unique opportunity to reach a massive audience.
While Squarespace may not be the biggest company advertising during the Super Bowl, it has established itself as a consistent presence over the years. The company has enlisted the help of notable celebrities like Adam Driver, John Malkovich, and Martin Scorsese for their commercials. With the rise of creator media, Squarespace sees an opportunity to connect with a new audience.
In addition to the TV commercial, Squarespace plans to launch a comprehensive marketing campaign around the Super Bowl, treating it like a movie rollout. Longer form films and other promotional activities will complement their on-air presence.
As the anticipation builds for the Super Bowl, Squarespace will unveil more details about their commercial in the lead-up to the big game. Stay tuned for more updates from the website building service as they gear up for their 12th Super Bowl appearance.
