Kiefer Sutherland Arrested After Altercation with Ride-Share Driver
“24” star Kiefer Sutherland found himself in trouble early Monday morning after a physical altercation with a Hollywood ride-share driver, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD received a call around 12:15 a.m. regarding an assault involving a rideshare driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Upon arrival, officers determined that Sutherland had entered a rideshare vehicle, assaulted the driver, and made criminal threats towards them. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Sutherland was arrested for making criminal threats in violation of California Penal Code section 422, with detectives from the Hollywood Division currently investigating the incident.
Representatives for Sutherland have yet to respond to requests for comment from Variety.
Sutherland was released on a $50,000 bond later on Monday morning, with his initial court date scheduled for February 2nd.
The son of Shirley Douglas and Donald Sutherland, Kiefer Sutherland made a name for himself in Hollywood with roles in films like “Stand By Me,” “The Lost Boys,” “A Few Good Men,” and “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.” However, he is best known for his portrayal of counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer in the hit series “24,” which garnered numerous awards and accolades during its run. In 2012, the show was revived as a 12-episode mini-series titled “24: Live Another Day.”
Sutherland’s recent credits include films such as “Tinsel Town,” “Stone Cold Fox,” “Juror #2,” and “They Cloned Tyrone.”
