Spotify Increases Subscription Prices in the U.S. for Third Time in Three Years

Spotify recently announced a price hike for its subscription plan in the U.S., marking the third increase in as many years. The monthly cost of the plan has been raised from $11.99 to $12.99 per month, affecting paid users starting from the next billing cycle.

According to a blog post by Spotify, these price adjustments reflect the value the platform provides, allowing them to enhance user experience and support artists. The company’s move follows a report from the Financial Times in November 2025, which indicated that Spotify planned to increase prices in the U.S. Analysts projected that this adjustment could potentially boost Spotify’s revenue by $500 million.

Similar price hikes were implemented in markets like the U.K. and Switzerland last year. The first price increase in the U.S. occurred in 2023, with subsequent bumps in 2024. Spotify, boasting over 281 million paid users globally, with a significant portion from North America, is also raising prices in Estonia and Latvia.
