NRW Holdings, a leading provider of diversified contract services in Australia, has recently announced a significant mining services agreement valued at approximately A$750 million with TEC Coal for operations at the Stanwell Meandu Mine in Australia. This agreement, which spans over a period of 5.5 years starting this month, solidifies NRW’s position as a key player in the mining industry.

Located 25km south-east of Kingaroy in Queensland, the Meandu Mine boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 7.6 million tonnes and is expected to supply coal until 2037. Originally commissioned in 1983, the mine plays a crucial role in the country’s coal production landscape.

Under the terms of the contract, NRW’s subsidiary Golding Contractors will be responsible for managing the entire mining operation. This includes operating and maintaining three fleets of heavy mining equipment, a dragline, and a processing plant provided by TEC Coal. The agreement also promises to create job opportunities for approximately 400 local residents, strengthening the local economy and community.

NRW CEO Jules Pemberton expressed his excitement about the new partnership, highlighting Golding’s reputation for delivering safe and efficient contract mining services. He emphasized the company’s strategy of reducing capital intensity in contract mining operations and its commitment to providing a safe and positive workplace for employees.

In addition to its latest venture at the Stanwell Meandu Mine, NRW has been actively expanding its presence in the mining sector. In July 2025, the company’s NRW Civil & Mining division secured a contract with Rio Tinto for the Brockman Syncline 1 mine project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, valued at approximately A$167 million. This project involves various construction works such as earthworks, roadworks, drainage systems, and concrete structures.

With a strong track record of delivering high-quality services across multiple sectors, NRW continues to solidify its position as a leader in the Australian contract services industry. The company’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and value creation for shareholders sets it apart as a reliable partner for mining operations in the region.
