Stephen Colbert, host of the “Late Show,” reflected on President Donald Trump’s tumultuous first year in office, noting that it has been characterized by a series of shocking actions.

Colbert expressed the difficulty of keeping up with the constant stream of news coming from the Trump administration, stating, “every single day, there’s some new Trump horror dominating the headlines.”

Describing the experience as exhausting, Colbert humorously suggested that Trump’s tendency to appear drowsy at events might be due to the overwhelming nature of his presidency.

On the anniversary of Trump’s first year in office, the president held a lengthy press conference that Colbert sarcastically labeled as “the mad ramblings of a syphilitic brain.”

Colbert then played footage of Trump showcasing photos of migrants accused of crimes, at times remaining silent as he sifted through the images.

During the press conference, Trump asked if the media was getting bored, to which Colbert responded with a humorous analogy, highlighting the constant state of alarm caused by the president’s actions.

Colbert also posed a tongue-in-cheek question about whether Trump’s behavior could be considered “sundowning,” even if it occurred in the afternoon, eliciting laughter from the audience.

For more of Colbert’s witty commentary, check out his Tuesday night monologue.
