Amazon Prime Video Sets Premiere Date for “Legally Blonde” Prequel Series
The highly anticipated “Legally Blonde” prequel series, titled “Elle,” has officially announced its premiere date on Amazon Prime Video. The streamer has also renewed the show for a second season, showcasing the immense popularity and excitement surrounding the upcoming series.
“Elle” Season 1 is set to debut on Prime Video on July 1, with production for the second season scheduled to commence this spring. The series will provide viewers with a glimpse into the formative years of Elle Woods, portrayed by Lexi Minetree, delving into the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic character beloved by audiences worldwide.
Reese Witherspoon, the original star of “Legally Blonde” and an executive producer on the series, expressed her excitement for the project, stating, “Twenty-five years after the world met Elle Woods for the first time, it’s a dream come true to share the story of how she became the unstoppable force we all fell in love with. The cast of “Elle” includes June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mother Eva, Tom Everett Scott as her father Wyatt, and a talented ensemble featuring Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, and Zac Looker. Additionally, recurring cast members such as Jessica Belkin, Logan Shroyer, and Amy Pietz will contribute to the rich tapestry of characters in the series.

Jason Moore, who directed the first two episodes, also serves as an executive producer, further enhancing the show’s creative prowess.
The “Legally Blonde” franchise has enjoyed immense success since its debut, with the original film grossing over $140 million worldwide in 2001. The sequel, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde,” followed in 2003, captivating audiences with Elle Woods’ continued adventures.
