The WWE has been on a roll in the first month of 2026, with the Road to WrestleMania 42 just around the corner. As the company gears up for some high-profile matches, there are five major stars who absolutely need to win their next matches to maintain their momentum and credibility.

Starting off with Gunther, who shocked the wrestling world by making John Cena submit in his final match at SNME. The Ring General has been riding a wave of momentum, but a loss in his upcoming match against AJ Styles at Royal Rumble could derail his status as a monster heel.

Next up is Jacob Fatu, who recently returned to disrupt the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. The Samoan Werewolf needs to win his first match back to solidify the impact he has made since his return. His upcoming match against Rhodes at SNME is crucial for him to maintain his momentum.

Speaking of Cody Rhodes, the American Nightmare can’t afford another loss after dropping the Undisputed WWE Title to McIntyre. With the Road to WrestleMania approaching, Rhodes needs to look strong heading into the biggest event of the year to keep his popularity intact.

And finally, Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, who finally captured the title after multiple failed attempts. McIntyre needs to have a strong showing as champion, starting with his defense against the winner of the Fatal Four-Way Match at Royal Rumble. Another high-profile defeat for McIntyre could undo all the momentum he has built as champion.
