Double Murder-Suicide Leaves Two Dead and Elderly Woman In Critical Condition in the Bronx
Tragedy struck in the Bronx on Thursday morning as two people were killed in an apparent botched double murder-suicide. The victims, a 55-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman believed to be siblings, were found shot in the head inside a co-op building on Johnson Avenue in Spuyten Duyvil. Additionally, an 86-year-old woman, believed to be their mother, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the face.
The younger woman, found lying in bed, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the elderly victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical but stable condition.
The man, discovered in the hallway with two guns on his lap, was also declared dead by EMS. Investigators suspect that he shot his relatives before turning the weapon on himself.
None of the victims have been identified by police at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning as they try to make sense of the senseless violence that took place.
