Kanye West Opens Up About Bipolar Disorder and Apologizes for Antisemitic Rants

Kanye West recently shared his struggles with bipolar disorder, shedding light on the stigma surrounding mental illness. The renowned rapper expressed how individuals with bipolar disorder often feel marginalized and unable to make meaningful contributions to society once they are labeled as “crazy.”

West emphasized the seriousness of the condition, stating that bipolar disorder can be debilitating and even life-threatening. He admitted that one of the scariest aspects of the disease is how it can convince individuals that they do not need help, leading them to believe they are powerful, certain, and unstoppable.

The rapper candidly confessed that he had lost touch with reality at times, leading to regrettable actions and behaviors. He acknowledged mistreating those closest to him and expressed remorse for his past actions. West admitted to experiencing disconnected moments, some of which he cannot recall, that resulted in poor judgment and reckless behavior.

One of the most controversial incidents mentioned by West was his use of the swastika symbol and the sale of t-shirts bearing it. He attributed these actions to his bipolar disorder, stating that he gravitated towards destructive symbols during disconnected moments. West clarified that he is not a Nazi or an antisemite and expressed his love for Jewish people.

Despite seeking treatment and committing to meaningful change, West acknowledged that his past actions cannot be excused. He emphasized the importance of accountability and expressed deep regret for his behavior. The rapper reassured his fans that he is dedicated to addressing his mental health issues and making amends for his past mistakes.
