A New Chapter for Jonathan Cohen: White Label and Black Label Lines
Jonathan Cohen is embarking on a new journey in the fashion world as he partners with Marina and Ricardo Larroudé to integrate the production of his ready-to-wear collections in Brazil. This collaboration will see the introduction of two distinct lines: White Label and Black Label. The White Label pieces will be available in see-now, buy-now drops, catering to a wider audience, while the more intricately designed Black Label pieces will be released on an as-ready basis.
Marina Larroudé shared her excitement about the partnership, stating, “We saw an opportunity to bring more creatives into this power machine that we were able to create in terms of a company and then add their layers so then they can take care of just the creativity part. So the vision, the products, the design—all of it—it’s Jonathan, but it’s powered by us as the backend.”
Jonathan Cohen’s designs in the White Label collection are crafted for the “aspirational customer” that he identifies with, filling a void in the market that he believes has been overlooked. The collection offers considered design within an accessible price range, focusing on practical solutions for dressing. With a keen understanding of his customers after fifteen years in the industry, Cohen delivers versatile pieces that seamlessly blend into any wardrobe.
The White Label collection features a curated selection of silhouettes including shirtdresses, pants, tops, a wrap dress, and skirt. Cohen’s love for prints is evident in hand-painted designs such as black and white stripes and a vibrant red floral pattern. The use of sustainable materials, like upcycled black satin from Larroudé’s factories, reinforces the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Details such as vari-colored zig-zagged stitching and custom buttons add a playful touch to the collection, reminiscent of iconic designers like Stephen Burrows and Byron Lars. Cohen’s focus on easy-to-wear pieces that exude a sense of fun and sophistication sets his White Label collection apart in the competitive fashion landscape.
