One individual was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after falling through the ice at Sand Creek Park on Tuesday night, according to Aurora officials.
Aurora Fire Rescue teams quickly arrived at the park located at 2700 N. Peoria St. at 7 p.m., as reported on social media. Both Aurora police and the South Metro Fire Rescue dive team were also on hand to assist.
Following the rescue of one individual from the icy waters, crews are actively searching to ensure no one else has fallen through the ice, Aurora Fire Rescue officials confirmed.
