Samsung is gearing up to launch its next generation of flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S26 series. While the release is just weeks away, early rumors suggest that the upgrades might be relatively minor across the board. The lineup is expected to include the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra, with the most exciting feature being the confirmed Privacy Screen exclusive to the S26 Ultra.
One of the key updates for the entire lineup is the inclusion of built-in Qi2 wireless charging, following in the footsteps of the Pixel 10 series. The latest leak reveals the official 25W charger, known as the ‘Magnetic Wireless Charger’. This accessory is expected to offer fast charging speeds and could potentially change the game for wireless charging skeptics.
The leaked images of the charger show a braided cable with a large plastic puck for attaching to the back of the phone securely. The USB-C cable is designed to work with Samsung’s 45W charger but should also be compatible with other Power Delivery chargers. While the charger is primarily black in color, it remains to be seen if other color options will be available.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to support 25W wireless charging, a significant upgrade from the 15W Qi wireless charging on its predecessor. The regular S26 and S26+ are expected to support up to 20W wireless charging, with compatibility for the Magnetic Wireless Charger. Older Samsung phones can also be connected to the accessory but will be limited to 15W charging speeds.
While 25W wireless charging may not be as fast as wired charging options, the convenience of Qi2 technology could make it a popular choice for users. Having multiple Magnetic Wireless Chargers around the house could simplify the charging process and eliminate concerns about the phone being dislodged during charging.
The affordability of the Magnetic Wireless Charger remains a question, but the potential for changing the charging habits of users is significant. As Samsung prepares to launch the Galaxy S26 series, the Magnetic Wireless Charger could be a standout accessory that revolutionizes the way users charge their phones.
