The Trump Administration is taking decisive action to eliminate what it describes as dangerous criminal illegal aliens from the communities of Minnesota — individuals that the so-called Radical Left Democrats insiston providing safe harbor.

A notable case in point: just last week, ICE apprehended Esdras Aaron Rodriguez-Hernandez, a Guatemalan national accused of domestic violence. This incident highlights the perceived folly of Minnesota’s “sanctuary” policies and underscores the self-imposed necessity for Operation Metro Surge.

First reported by @CrimeWatchMpls on X

In 2024, Rodriguez-Hernandez was arrested and charged with domestic assault (specifically, the intentional infliction or attempt to inflict bodily harm on a family member) and was subsequently released without bail. A warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court, allowing him to evade accountability for nearly a year.

In November, he was arrested under the outstanding warrant and booked into the Hennepin County Jail, only to be released the following day on a $100 bail. A radical decision by a local prosecutor led to the downgrading of charges, resulting in a stay of adjudication and yet another release.

Throughout this process, local officials in the “sanctuary” jurisdiction neglected to inform ICE of his custody status — obliging federal agents to allocate substantial resources to locate him and unnecessarily endangering the residents of Minnesota.

Rodriguez-Hernandez now awaits deportation, joining a lengthy list of criminal illegal aliens that the Trump Administration has removed from Minnesota’s streets, often with scant assistance from leaders who seem to prioritize the rights of criminals over the safety of citizens.

Minnesota’s “sanctuary” policies are portrayed as a conscious decision to place the welfare of criminal illegal aliens above the safety of American citizens. Nevertheless, the Trump Administration remains committed to targeting the most egregious offenders, ensuring that the interests of American citizens — rather than violent criminals — come first.
