Mae Martin has recently signed a first-look deal with Netflix, as reported exclusively by Variety. This deal will see Martin continuing to develop and create TV series for the popular streaming service, as well as the production of a new stand-up special.

In a statement, Martin expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with Netflix over the past seven years, highlighting the support and creative freedom they have experienced. The comedian and actor mentioned their excitement to showcase new projects and to uplift other voices in the industry.

Martin’s collaboration with Netflix began with the semi-autobiographical series “Feel Good,” where they portrayed a fictionalized version of themselves. The show ran for two seasons and received positive reviews from critics. Martin also released a stand-up special titled “SAP” on Netflix in 2023.

More recently, Martin created, wrote, and starred in the limited series “Wayward” for Netflix, which premiered in 2025. The show, set in a small town in Vermont with a school for troubled teens, featured an ensemble cast including Oscar nominee Toni Collette. “Wayward” made a splash at the Toronto International Film Festival and enjoyed a five-week stint on Netflix’s Global Top 10 chart.

Netflix Canada’s Director of Content, Danielle Woodrow, praised Martin’s unique voice and creative vision, citing the success of “Wayward” and expressing anticipation for their future projects.

Overall, Mae Martin’s new deal with Netflix signifies a continued partnership that promises exciting and diverse content for audiences worldwide. Fans can look forward to more innovative storytelling and comedic brilliance from this talented artist.
