Blood found on the front steps of Savannah Guthrie’s mom’s home has been confirmed to belong to the missing 84-year-old grandmother, Nancy Guthrie, in a shocking update provided by police. DNA samples were taken from the blood that was discovered outside Nancy’s million-dollar Tucson house and after an expedited analysis, it was determined to be a match to Nancy, as announced by Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos during a press conference.
The blood found on the porch was just one of several forensic samples that law enforcement officials collected from Nancy’s residence and submitted for expedited analysis through the FBI labs. However, at the time of the press conference, only the analysis of the porch blood had been completed. Sheriff Nanos mentioned that there are still more items that have been submitted for analysis, but results are pending.
Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was last seen on Saturday night when her son-in-law dropped her off at home after a dinner with her daughter. She was reported missing the following day, and the investigation was escalated to a criminal probe on Monday. As of now, there are no identified suspects in the case.
In response to Nancy’s disappearance, the FBI has dedicated a significant number of resources to assist in the investigation, including expediting DNA and digital forensics, obtaining warrants, and conducting searches across the country. Sheriff Nanos expressed gratitude for the FBI’s collaboration and emphasized the shared effort to solve the case.
Despite the concerning developments, Sheriff Nanos remains hopeful that Nancy is still alive and urged for her safe return home. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determined to uncover the truth behind Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. The FBI and local law enforcement are working tirelessly to gather information and bring Nancy back to her loved ones. The community is urged to come forward with any tips or leads that may aid in the investigation.
