Fall 2026 Fashion Preview: Veronica Beard’s Trailblazing Collection
Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard are known for their thematic approach to each collection they release. From embracing the Wild West in pre-fall to celebrating American sportswear in Resort, the designers always bring a unique flair to their designs. This time, for their fall 2026 collection, they took a more esoteric approach to their inspiration.
Displayed in the Veronicas’ showroom was a moodboard for the collection, titled “Trailblazers.” The moodboard featured iconic women like Joan Didion, Bethann Hardison, Donna Karan, and ChloĆ© Zhao, each representing strength and individuality. While not every piece in the collection directly reflects these women, the essence of their spirit can be felt through strong shoulders, statement outerwear, and rich, muted colors.
The collection exudes a borrowed-from-the-boys aesthetic with a touch of glam. Swanson Beard describes the pieces as inspired by classic menswear styles but tailored to fit a woman’s body perfectly. One standout piece is a rusty brown suit with power shoulders, a cinched waist, and unique cabochon buttons. Another piece, a reversible olive nylon funnel-neck jacket lined with faux fur, pays homage to aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart.
For the Veronicas, storytelling is just as important as the design process. They aim to create clothing that women can wear on both ordinary days and extraordinary occasions. Swanson Beard explains, “We design clothes that we envision a woman wearing during significant moments in her life, whether it’s a blazer for a powerful meeting or a stunning dress for a special event where she might meet the love of her life.”
