Law enforcement officials seized an SUV parked in Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home garage on Friday, along with a wired device found on the roof following a tip from a neighbor.

More than 10 police cars descended on Guthrie’s residence in the Catalina Foothills area north of Tucson and initiated a thorough search of the property late in the afternoon as part of the extensive efforts to locate the missing 84-year-old.

A tow truck was summoned to remove a Blue Subaru SUV, believed to belong to Guthrie, before authorities escorted the truck to an impound lot near the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, as reported by Fox News.

The reason for confiscating the vehicle from the home, where the elderly woman is suspected to have been abducted between Saturday night and Sunday morning, was not disclosed by officials.

Guthrie’s daughter, Savannah Guthrie, a host on NBC’s “Today” show, together with her siblings, made a heartfelt plea for her mother’s alleged captors to release her.

FBI agents were captured on camera scaling Guthrie’s residence and inspecting the roof before seizing what is believed to be a camera, according to Fox News reporter Michael Ruiz.

Retired NYPD Inspector Paul Mauro clarified that the device discovered was a camera that may have been overlooked during the initial investigation days.

Residents in the area had installed wildlife cameras that could have potentially recorded human movement, Mauro added.

Guthrie’s neighbor, Laura Gargano, alerted authorities to inspect the roof due to its unusually clean appearance compared to neighboring homes.

Authorities were also examining another vehicle, possibly linked to Guthrie’s disappearance, after receiving information about a “vehicle of interest.”

Federal and county law enforcement officials were investigating the authenticity of a “new message” sent to a local Arizona news station resembling a purported initial ransom note distributed to other media outlets earlier in the week.

The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are actively scrutinizing the information provided in the message to determine its credibility, according to a joint statement.

CNN affiliate KOLD 13 News in Arizona forwarded the message it received to law enforcement, as reported before the joint statement was issued.

The timeline of events surrounding the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother is under intense scrutiny, with investigators exploring all leads and avenues to locate Nancy Guthrie.
