Big 12 women’s basketball is known for its tough competition, something that Colorado guard Zyanna Walker appreciates. “I like how competitive it is,” Walker said. “You’ve got to show up every night, no matter who you’re playing. Top or bottom of the conference, you’ve got to be up, ready to play, especially on the road.”
This Sunday, the Buffs will face a formidable opponent in the No. 14-ranked TCU at the CU Events Center. TCU, the defending league champion, is currently tied atop the conference standings.
Despite a recent loss to West Virginia, the Buffs have shown resilience throughout the season. Head coach JR Payne emphasized the team’s ability to make quick corrections and learn from their mistakes.
Sophomore Tabitha Betson praised the team’s coachability and willingness to grow, especially after losses. The Buffs have consistently bounced back after defeats, demonstrating their determination and ability to learn from each game.
TCU, led by standout player Olivia Miles, presents a tough challenge for the Buffs. With a strong defense and offense, TCU is a well-rounded team that will test Colorado’s skills.
Walker emphasized the importance of staying focused and locked in for every game in the competitive Big 12 conference. The Buffs will need to be organized and disciplined to secure a victory against TCU.
