Chicago Police Seek Three Suspects in Hyde Park Vehicle Vandalism

Chicago police are on the lookout for three individuals who were responsible for damaging multiple vehicles in Hyde Park during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incidents took place at around 4 a.m. in the 5500 block of South South Shore Drive and the 1700 block of East 56th Street. The vandals used an unidentified object to break the windows of at least 30 vehicles before making their escape in a gray sedan, according to CPD. It was reported that there were no thefts from the vehicles, indicating that the acts were solely focused on property damage.

All three offenders were dressed in dark-colored attire, as stated by the police. However, no further descriptions of the suspects were provided in the community alert.

The Chicago Police Department is urging anyone with information to reach out to Area One Detectives at 312-747-8380 or submit an anonymous tip at CPDTIP.com, referencing crime pattern #P26-1-014.

CWBChicago was established in 2013 by a group of residents from Wrigleyville and Boystown who were dissatisfied with the inaccurate information being disseminated at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.

Since then, our coverage has expanded to include areas like Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side neighborhoods. Our primary goal remains consistent: to deliver original reporting on public safety with enhanced context and depth compared to mainstream media outlets.
