HBO Max Announces Launch Date for U.K. and Ireland
HBO Max has officially revealed that its standalone streaming service will be launching in the U.K. and Ireland on March 26. This highly-anticipated platform will offer a wide range of content from popular sources such as HBO, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, DC Studios, and Max Originals.
Subscribers in the U.K. will have four different subscription options to choose from, including two ad-based tiers priced at £4.99 and £5.99 per month, as well as two ad-free packages at £9.99 and £14.99 per month. The top-tier package will include 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos capabilities. Additionally, TNT Sports will be available as a standalone or add-on option for £30.99 per month.
Exciting scripted content coming to the service includes the first season of “The Pitt,” both seasons of “Euphoria,” “House of the Dragon,” and the debut of DC’s “Green Lantern” series “Lanterns.” The extensive library will also feature fan-favorite shows like “Friends,” “Succession,” “The Sopranos,” and “Game of Thrones.”
Upcoming releases on HBO Max include Season 3 of “Euphoria,” Season 2 of “The Pitt,” and the highly-anticipated “Harry Potter” series set to premiere in 2027.
In terms of movies, subscribers will have access to a wide selection of films, although the basic subscription tier may not include recent blockbuster releases like “Sinners,” “One Battle After Another,” “Superman,” and “A Minecraft Movie.”
TNT Sports will also be transitioning from the Discovery+ app to HBO Max, offering sports enthusiasts access to various events including Premier League soccer, UEFA Champions League, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, Grand Tour cycling, and the 2028 Olympic Games in L.A.
President of global streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, JB Perrette, expressed his excitement about bringing HBO Max to the U.K. and Ireland, stating that it will provide consumers with a wide array of remarkable stories and brands in one convenient platform.

To access HBO Max, viewers can download the app, visit hbomax.com, or utilize launch partners Sky and Amazon on various devices including TVs, mobiles, and tablets. Pre-registration for the service is already open on the App Store and Google Play, starting March 12.
Originally launched in the U.S. in 2020, HBO Max has since expanded to over 110 territories worldwide, including Latin America, Europe, and Asia, solidifying its position as a global streaming powerhouse.
