The 16th annual Advanced Imaging Society Awards, also known as the Lumiere Awards, recently took place to honor outstanding creative and technical achievements in the entertainment industry. The event recognized artists, engineers, and innovators who are pushing the boundaries of storytelling and cinematic technology.
One of the top winners of the night was the live action feature film “Sinners,” which took home the Lumiere Award for Best Feature Film – Live Action. The film also received praise for its audio, with the sound team being recognized for their exceptional work. Actor Delroy Lindo, a nominee for Best Supporting Actor, was present to present the award to producer Sev Ohanian.
“Zootopia 2” was another big winner, taking home the award for Best Feature Film – Animation. The film was lauded for its stunning visuals and technical integration across all aspects of production. Director Byron Howard was on hand to accept the award.
“KPop Demon Hunters” also had a successful night, winning two Lumiere Awards for Best Original Song and Best Musical Scene or Sequence. The film showcased a unique blend of music and storytelling that captivated audiences.
Other winners of the night included “The King of Color” for Best Documentary, “Wicked: For Good” for Best Motion Picture – Musical, and “Avatar: Fire and Ash” for Best Theatrical Scene or Sequence. The event also recognized episodic winners such as “Andor” Season 2 and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.”
In addition to the film awards, the event also honored organizations for their impact and innovation in the industry. Technical awards were given to companies like Apple TV, DisneyResearch|Studios, and Google for their contributions to the field.
Notable individuals were also recognized at the event. Ethan Hawke received the Distinguished Artist Award for his performance in “Blue Moon,” while director Jon M. Chu was awarded the inaugural Judy Garland Legacy Award. The Harold Lloyd Award was presented to Joseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer for their work on “F1.”
