Bill Melugin, a familiar face on Fox News, is set to take on a new role as the anchor of a 90-second news brief called the “Fox News Report.” This new segment will be broadcast on 18 TV stations owned and operated by Fox Corp., as well as made available to affiliates of the Fox broadcast network. Starting on Monday, February 23, viewers can tune in to catch Melugin delivering national and global headlines covering a wide range of topics, from politics to sports to entertainment.
The “Fox News Report” will air on weekdays at 5:58 p.m. eastern time, providing viewers with a quick snapshot of the day’s most important news stories. This new segment is part of Fox News’ efforts to give exposure to a new generation of reporters, anchors, and correspondents. In recent months, the network has been showcasing talented staffers like Lawrence Jones, Jacqui Heinrich, Aishah Hasnie, and Peter Doocy in prominent roles.
Bill Melugin, who joined Fox News in May 2021 as a correspondent based on the west coast, has already made a name for himself with his coverage of various events. From reporting on the U.S. border to covering wildfire outbreaks in California and the tragic mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas in 2022, Melugin has proven himself to be a versatile and dedicated journalist. Prior to joining Fox News, he worked as an investigative reporter for KTTV, Fox’s Los Angeles station. Melugin is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, holding a degree in broadcast Journalism.
In addition to the “Fox News Report,” Fox News also provides other programming to Fox stations, such as the popular newsmaker interview program “Fox News Sunday” anchored by Shannon Bream.
