Bodybuilder Jayne Trcka’s tragic cause of death has been revealed nearly two months after her passing. According to a report from the San Diego County Medical Examiner obtained by TMZ on February 11, Trcka, 62, succumbed to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease complicated by a left femoral fracture. Chronic alcohol use was also cited as a contributing factor in her untimely death, which was labeled as accidental.
In December 2025, news broke that Trcka was found unresponsive in her San Diego home. Her friend, concerned after several failed attempts to reach her, discovered her lifeless body and promptly contacted authorities, who pronounced her dead at the scene. Trcka’s son expressed shock at the revelation of any underlying medical conditions that may have contributed to her passing.
Hailing from Minnesota, Trcka’s athletic journey began with gymnastics before transitioning to weight training upon relocating to California in the 1980s. Her dedication and passion for bodybuilding landed her features in prestigious fitness magazines such as Flex, MuscleMag International, Women’s Physique World, Iron Man, and Fighting Females.
In a 2004 interview, Trcka reflected on her bodybuilding career, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and self-belief in achieving one’s dreams.
