Richard Gere Sells Connecticut Home to Start New Life in Spain with Wife Alejandra Silva
After years of living in their stunning Connecticut estate, Richard Gere and his wife Alejandra Silva have decided to sell their home and start a new chapter in Spain. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018, made the decision to move to Silva’s home country to be closer to her family and roots.
The luxurious home, built in 1938, boasts 11 bathrooms, a three-bedroom guest cottage, a pool, and several gardens spread throughout the 32-acre property situated amongst thick trees. The beautiful estate served as a peaceful retreat for the couple during their time in the United States.
Earlier this year, as the political landscape began to change, the Runaway Bride actor opened up about his desire to leave the US and start a life with Silva in Spain. Gere expressed that he wanted Silva to have the opportunity to spend more time with her relatives and reconnect with her Spanish heritage.
Silva, 41, is originally from La Coruña, Spain, and has spent a significant amount of time in the States with Gere since their wedding. Gere shared, “For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends, and her culture. She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers.”
The decision to sell their Connecticut home marks a new beginning for Gere and Silva as they embark on a new adventure in Spain. The couple’s love story continues to evolve as they prioritize family, love, and connection in their journey together.
