Apollo Crews made a triumphant return to WWE SmackDown in a huge impromptu 10-man tag team match this past Friday. The match saw MFT taking on a team of babyfaces, including United States Champion Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunov, Shinsuke Nakamura, Apollo Crews, and Matt Cardona.
Crews, who had been out of action for 385 days due to a torn pectoral muscle, made his comeback alongside Cardona to support the babyface team. His last SmackDown match was on January 24, 2025, where he emerged victorious against Johnny Gargano. In November 2025, he also competed at AAA Alianzas, defeating Lince Dorado and maintaining an undefeated streak for that year.
Since the beginning of 2026, Crews has been actively wrestling in both WWE and AAA. He returned to WWE Main Event in January 2026, facing Talla Tonga in a losing effort. He also participated in AAA’s Rey de Reyes Tournament, competing in a four-way match against La Parka, Aero Star, and Jack Cartwheel, but unfortunately came up short.
In the following weeks, Crews faced setbacks on Main Event, suffering defeats against Kit Wilson and Berto. However, his recent appearance on SmackDown alongside Matt Cardona and his participation in the 10-man tag team match indicate that he is ready to make a strong impact on the main roster once again.
As fans eagerly await his next move on SmackDown, the return of Apollo Crews has certainly added an exciting element to the WWE landscape. Stay tuned to see how Crews continues to make his mark in the world of professional wrestling.
