Klarna Group, a Swedish company known for its buy now, pay later services, made headlines last September when it went public on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol KLAR. However, the stock has not performed as well as investors had hoped, with a 56% decline since its first day of trading. Despite this, Klarna is set to provide its next business update for the fourth quarter of 2025 on Feb. 19.

The company offers a variety of payment options, including its popular Pay in 4 service, which allows customers to split their purchases into four interest-free payments. Klarna works with top brands like Walmart and is planning to expand into other financial services in the future.

Despite its stock performance, Klarna’s business is thriving. In the third quarter of 2025, the company saw a 26% increase in revenue year over year, with a 23% increase in gross merchandise volume. Klarna also reported a 48% increase in the U.S. market. The company had 4 million card signups in the quarter, accounting for 15% of total global transactions in October. Additionally, Klarna saw 27 million new users, a 32% increase, bringing its total user base to 114 million.

While Klarna is experiencing growth in its business metrics, it is still reporting losses. The company’s net loss widened from $4 million to $94 million year over year in the third quarter, with much of the loss attributed to the costs associated with its IPO. Management remains optimistic about the company’s growth potential, citing that revenue is growing faster than operating expenses and that Klarna has a path to profitability.

In terms of valuation, Klarna is trading at only 2 times its trailing-12-month sales, which could present a buying opportunity for investors. However, the market views Klarna as a risky investment, given the current macroeconomic environment and the company’s ongoing losses. Investors with an appetite for risk may see potential in Klarna’s long-term prospects, but short-term fluctuations in the stock price could continue.

Overall, Klarna remains a company with growth potential, despite its recent stock performance. Investors should consider the risks and rewards before deciding whether to invest in Klarna stock. The company’s upcoming business update on Feb. 19 could provide more clarity on its future outlook.
