ZDF Studios Sells 1,200 Hours of Drama to Hungary’s TV2 Group

ZDF Studios and Hungary’s TV2 Group have recently inked a multi-year deal that will see over 1,200 hours of drama content being supplied to the broadcaster. This deal includes free TV, pay TV, and VOD rights for Hungary, allowing TV2 Group to showcase the content on its linear channels and streaming services.

The package offered by ZDF Studios focuses on high-recognition German brands that are perfect for weekday scheduling and on-demand viewing. The aim is to provide a wide range of proven titles that will keep TV schedules filled with engaging content.

Included in the slate of content are classic titles, long-running TV movie collections, and contemporary procedural dramas from ZDF Studios’ catalog. Popular titles like “The Black Forest Clinic” and “Derrick” are part of the package, along with romantic TV movies such as “Rosamunde Pilcher,” “Inga Lindström,” “Spring Fever,” “Lena Lorenz,” and “Katie Fforde.”

TV2 Group will also have access to family-friendly titles like “Our Charly” and “Hello Robbie,” as well as crime and adventure series like “SOKO Wien” and “Alpine Rescue.” Medical dramas such as “Mountain Medic” and “Dr. Nice” are also included in the deal.

Mirela Nastase, director of drama at ZDF Studios, expressed her excitement about the partnership with TV2 Group, stating that the agreement brings together some of their most successful and beloved productions. She believes that Hungarian audiences will warmly receive these titles, just as audiences worldwide have done.

Gábor Fischer, chief content officer of TV2 Group, emphasized the importance of high-quality drama in their content offering. He believes that the ZDF Studios package will greatly enhance TV2’s content across all platforms by introducing established series brands to viewers nationwide.

Overall, this partnership between ZDF Studios and TV2 Group is set to bring a diverse range of engaging content to Hungarian audiences, catering to a wide variety of tastes and preferences.
