Philadelphia Woman Robbed and Dragged by Heartless Mugger
On February 5, a shocking incident took place in Philadelphia as a woman using a cane was brutally mugged by a heartless thief at a bus stop. The harrowing robbery was captured on camera, showing the thief waiting on the 6900 block of Torresdale Avenue as the victim slowly made her way towards the bus stop just before 5:30 a.m.
As the victim passed by, the robber attempted to snatch her purse off her shoulder, causing the woman to desperately cling to her bag. The thief then forcefully pulled the purse, causing the woman to lose her grip on her cane and fall face-first to the ground.
The thief then proceeded to drag the victim for a short distance before fleeing the scene with the woman’s cash, Samsung Galaxy 9 phone, keys, and ID, leaving her injured and traumatized.
Following the incident, Philadelphia police released surveillance footage and a picture of the suspect in hopes of identifying and apprehending the criminal responsible for this heinous act. This robbery is reminiscent of a similar incident that occurred in Northeast Philadelphia a few weeks prior, where a 67-year-old woman was robbed and attacked with a stun gun while waiting for a bus.

In that incident, two female attackers assaulted the elderly woman and made off with her bag, containing $500 in cash. These disturbing crimes highlight the need for increased vigilance and community support in combating such acts of violence.
If you have any information regarding the February robbery or recognize the suspect in the released images, please contact Northeast Detectives or the Philadelphia Police Department’s TIP line at 215-686-TIPS to assist in bringing the perpetrator to justice.
