The investigation into the murder of 17-year-old Maggie Long is still ongoing, according to officials from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. They have warned the public about unauthorized flyers containing false information about the case.

Maggie was tragically found dead in her family’s home in Bailey in December 2017, where she had been burned alive in what was later confirmed to be a homicide.

Despite releasing composite sketches of several suspects, no arrests have been made in connection to the case.

Authorities said at a Monday news conference that they believe Bailey teenager Maggie Long was burned alive inside her family’s home in December 2017 and that there are three suspects in her murder who remain outstanding.

State officials have clarified that the Maggie Long Task Force is still active and dedicated to seeking justice for Maggie. The case remains a top priority for the CBI, Park County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, and ATF.

Addressing misinformation, the CBI stated that the task force’s website was deactivated in 2021 due to administrative changes, not because the case had gone cold.

Individuals with information can contact the task force anonymously by calling 303-239-4243 or emailing maggie.long.tips@state.co.us. A reward of $75,000 is available for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.

“The CBI is committed to Maggie’s family and the Bailey community, and will continue to pursue those responsible for this heinous crime,” the agency affirmed.
